As a military spouse, I get to photograph one of the best things; homecomings! To see people reunite with their loved ones after many months apart is so bittersweet. Until you've been through it, it's hard to understand just how hard deployments are on families.
Katherine and I spoke throughout the entire deployment as she kept me updated with homecoming dates and times, since it changes quite a few times. When I arrived to Cherry Point Air Station, the anticipation was crazy! Although this group of guys were deployed for several months, the last few moments always seem to take the longest. Finally, the buses arrived and Katherine was reunited with her husband!
